The Creative Director, Visual Design (CDVD) oversees the creative development of glue's dynamic live events.  The CDVD uses strong communication, strategic thinking, and impactful design to pitch and produce compelling concepts.  The CDVD works with production, design, and marketing teams to translate creative goals into executable designs & manages them through all project phases, from ideation to execution.

Here’s what they do:

Implement strategy, establish a project’s POV, and develop creative briefs for generating concepts with creative resources & production teams

Play a dynamic client-facing role for both the pitch phase & project work

Creatively translate a client’s message, brand, and storytelling goals into the content & visual elements of a live event 

Connect with clients through discussion & illustration* to visually articulate their ideas & to further develop concepts. *Mood boards & presentations are a must. Sketching & renderings are a plus!

Develop strategic visual solutions for client goals & translate them into executable designs

Effectively guide & weave a client’s vision through all phases of production

Collaborate with project teams to establish the overall aesthetic – ensuring it’s true to the original concept & is represented across location, materials, scenic elements, signage, and décor

Manage client expectations & work with the design execution team to ensure overall creative stays true throughout a project’s lifecycle

Here’s what’s required:

8+ years of design experience, plus a bachelor’s or equivalent in related field

An expert in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop) & Keynote

Hand drawing & illustration skills

Excellent track record for pitching, winning, and producing creative for live events

A background in live events that crosses mediums (experiential, entertainment, hospitality, theatre, technology, digital, etc)
